Isuzu has announced prices for its first electric pick-up truck, the D-Max EV. Sales of the model started in the UK on 21 July and the first vehicles will reach customers in February 2026. Prices are shocking: from £59,995 ($80,800) excluding VAT. That's almost double the price of the base diesel variant and £24,240 ($32,700) more when comparing the similarly equipped DL40 and V-Cross.

Here's What We Know

Externally, the production D-Max EV is almost identical to the diesel version: no plug instead of a grille like last year's concept, just blue inserts, nameplates and no exhaust system. Charging connector is located in place of the fuel filler flap. The body is available in Extended Cab and Double Cab versions, and the flagship V-Cross has an exclusive Dolomite White Pearl colour. The premiere model was painted in Norwegian Blue with black accents.

D-Max EV specifications:

  • two electric motors: 188bhp and 325Nm;
  • all-wheel drive;
  • Rough Terrain Mode, like the diesel version;
  • acceleration to 100 kilometres per hour in 10.1 seconds;
  • top speed of 129mph.

The electric D-Max is not inferior to the diesel version in terms of performance:

  • payload - over 1000 kg,
  • towing capacity up to 3.5 tonnes,
  • ford depth - 600 mm,
  • 210mm ground clearance.

The 66.9 kWh battery provides a range of 263 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Fast charging from 20 to 80 per cent takes about an hour at 50 kW. The battery has a warranty of 8 years or 160,000 kilometres.

In addition to the UK, sales of the D-Max EV have been confirmed for other European countries including Norway. However, even the tuned D-Max AT35 from Arctic Trucks was cheaper than the electric version.
