ChatGPT receives 2.5 billion requests daily, which is much less than the leader
ChatGPT receives 2.5 billion requests from users (prompts) every day. Moreover, 330 million of them are from users in the US. This is approximately the same number as the total population of this country, which eloquently shows how deeply AI has penetrated into people's everyday lives and how massive a phenomenon it has become.
However, the leader in popularity is even more impressive. Google recently published that it receives 5 trillion searches per year. This is roughly equivalent to 14 billion searches per year, though the share of US users is unknown. Independent researchers cite similar figures - from 13.7 to 16.4 billion per day.
Nevertheless, this is a very significant growth for ChatGPT - back in December, Sam Altman reported 1 billion requests per day. As the popularity of artificial intelligence continues to grow, it is fashionable to expect that these figures will only increase.
