Here's What We Know

The first samples of Lenovo Legion Go 2, a new generation portable gaming console announced at CES 2025, were spotted in China. The device was spotted on the secondary market through the Xianyu platform and in a video on Bilibili, despite the fact that the official presentation is still ahead. Judging by the prototype, Lenovo is preparing a major upgrade: instead of IPS, it will have an OLED display, more RAM, a new cooling system, a Wi-Fi module from MediaTek, and a larger battery.

Here's What We Know

Display - 8.8-inch OLED screen from Samsung, 1920×1200 resolution, refresh rate up to 144 Hz with VRR support. This is the first Legion Go with OLED.
The processor is AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, but not Z2 Extreme as expected. The APU is likely to be updated in the final version.
RAM - 32 GB LPDDR5X-7500, which is twice as much as in the first version of Legion Go.
Storage - 1 TB M.2 SSD (2 TB options are possible in the final revision).
Battery - capacity of about 74 Wh, against 49 Wh in the predecessor. Operating time - up to 3 hours at 30W TDP.
Other - controllers remain removable, the stand is retained as in the first model.
Network card - MediaTek instead of Broadcom in the previous version.

Context and release

It is likely that we are seeing a pre-release sample. The official launch is expected in September 2025, as reported by Lenovo. The device looks ready for mass production, so the final specifications may be even more powerful.

This is no longer just the answer to Steam Deck or ASUS ROG Ally - Legion Go 2 promises to be the flagship among Windows consoles in 2025.
