Toyota has unveiled an updated version of its flagship Sequoia SUV for the North American market. The 2026 model has become a bit more expensive and comfortable.

Here's What We Know

There are almost no changes on the outside, except for the new signature Wave Maker colour - it is available exclusively for the TRD Pro version. This configuration costs from $80,765 and turns out to be cheaper than the Ford Expedition Tremor.

There are more updates in the cabin. All versions of Sequoia are now equipped with a third row of seats with electric drive of folding. The Limited configuration has got rid of artificial leather SofTex in favour of natural leather - buyers will be offered either black leather with white stitching, or grey with contrasting black.

The top-end Capstone trim has also received an updated interior. The previous black and white colour scheme has been replaced by a new Shale trim with textured inserts, brown accents and Capstone logos on the seats. In addition, dark brown wood has given way to grey walnut.

Under the bonnet is the familiar hybrid powertrain based on a 3.4-litre V6 engine. It is complemented by a 10-speed automatic with an integrated electric motor and a small battery with a capacity of 1.87 kWh. The combined output reaches 437 hp (326 kW) and torque reaches 790 Nm (583 lb-ft). Rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions are available, although the Sequoia's fuel economy is still not outstanding: the stated fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 22 miles per gallon or 10.7 l/100 km.

The base version of the Sequoia now costs from $64,025 - $1,600 more expensive than was asked for the 2025 model. The Limited version has gone up $970 to $69,795. The most expensive Capstone has added $520 and now starts at $84,435.
