Acura will end production of the TLX sedan by the end of July. The reason is obvious: demand for the model is falling rapidly. In 2024, only 7,478 copies were sold in the United States, while a year earlier - 16,731. For comparison, BMW sold 25,315 5 Series sedans in the first half of this year alone.

Here's What We Know

Demand for the Acura TLX has been falling for a long time, with 11,508 units sold in the 2022 TLX. With the market increasingly moving toward SUVs, the model's continued existence has come into question. According to SP Global Mobility, the share of sedans in the premium segment in the U.S. fell from 22% in 2022 to 18% in 2024.

An additional factor has been the reorganisation of production: Acura has moved production of the Accord, Integra and TLX to a single line to free up capacity for electric vehicle assembly. With the Accord awaiting restyling, management chose - and chose not - the TLX. The model had been around for 30 years.

With these trends in mind, the Integra remains Acura's only sedan in the US. The brand's main focus is now on crossovers and upcoming electric vehicles.
