LEGO has officially announced the real LEGO Game Boy, an almost 1:1 scale replica of the classic handheld console. The build kit (with age limit 18+) consists of 421 parts. It will go on sale on 1 October 2025 for $59.99 / €59.99 / £54.99, making it the most affordable LEGO Nintendo set for adults today.

What's included:

  • Working buttons A, B, D-Pad, Select, Start, volume and contrast switches, slot for Game Pak cartridge
  • Two cartridges in the form of LEGO blocks - Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
  • A lenticular screen that gives the illusion of launching a game - including when showing the Nintendo logo and scenes from the games
  • A display stand - all without electronics: it's a static but dynamic replica

The size of the model is 14x9x3cm, which is almost the same size as the original Game Boy. Instead of stickers, LEGO used parts with already printed images - the body even has small elements like the serial number and the speaker grille.

The set is aimed at adult fans of retro gadgets and collectors. The kit comes with detailed instructions in paper form and in the mobile app. One element of the designer will cost about $0.14 - a little more expensive than average, but this is due to the high level of development and the official Nintendo licence.
