Japanese studio Cal's Motors has unveiled a new Beas+ L bodykit for the five-door version of the Suzuki Jimny, sold in Japan as Nomade. The kit gives the compact SUV a classic American look in the style of the Chevrolet K5 Blazer.

Here's What We Know

The main feature is the completely redesigned front end: chrome grille, rectangular LED headlights with integrated turn signals, new chrome bumper and offset fog lights. The Suzuki emblem at the front has been replaced with Cal's Motors lettering.

At the rear, the standard rectangular lights have given way to round LEDs integrated into the chrome bumper. Options include Moon Chrome alloy wheels with off-road rubber, and an upgraded spare wheel cover.

The specimen shown is painted in Orca Black Pearl 2, but other options will be available in the future. Leather seat trim, branded mats, a 7-inch Alpine multimedia screen, amplified acoustics and a digital interior rear view mirror are available for the cabin.

Technically, the Jimny remains the same: under the bonnet is a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an output of 105 hp and torque of 134 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. The drive is all-wheel drive, as it is supposed to a real off-roader. Cal's Motors also offers a suspension lift kit to improve off-road ability and appearance.

The Beas+ L is priced from 3,740,000 yen (about $25,200). By comparison, the standard five-door Jimny Nomade costs from 2,651,000 yen ($17,900). However, there is a nuance: it is still not easy to buy a car in Japan - demand exceeds supply.

If the five-door Jimny is too big, Cal's Motors has a similar kit for the short three-door version, priced from 3,080,000 yen ($20,700).
