Geely's commercial division Farizon has unveiled the X-Van electric camper in China, built on the SuperVAN platform. The model is available in one configuration with prices starting from 269,900 yuan (approximately 32,000 euros).

Here's What We Know

The 5.02-metre long, 1.98-metre wide and 2.14-metre high camper is based on the eponymous Super Van, which Farizon also sells as a passenger minivan. Height is the main external difference of the X-Van: it is slightly higher even with the retractable roof folded down. The latter, by the way, can be folded down and retracted electrically.

Both X-Van and Super Van are based on the SuperVAN platform, which is based on the Geely Multi-Purpose Architecture (GMA) platform. This modular platform allows for a variety of bodies and wheelbases. At launch, the developers have mentioned markets not only in China but also in Asia, Australia, South America and Europe. However, it is not yet known if the X-Van is planned to be delivered outside China.

The X-Van is powered by an LFP battery from Gotion High-Tech, providing a range of up to 460 kilometres on the CLTC cycle. The electric motor produces 170 kW (231 hp) and 336 N-m of torque. However, as with other Chinese models, it is worth considering that the actual WLTP and life range will be less. In addition, the camper has a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function - the battery can be used to power external appliances: from electric stove and refrigerator to shower water heater.

At the start of sales, Farizon is offering a special promotion: with an advance payment of 5,000 yuan by the end of the year, the buyer will receive a "limited offer" - a drone, a camping kit, a charging station and a "Christmas gift" with a total value of about 25,000 yuan.
