Xbox can't keep secrets: leaks reveal release date for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection

At the beginning of June, Digital Eclipse studio, which is engaged in the re-release of classic games, The classic fighting game returns: a unique Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection that will take you back to the 90s has been announced. It will include all versions of the first eight parts of the legendary fighting game series, not only for home consoles, but also for those that were released on arcade machines and failed portable versions.

Here's What We Know

The authors didn't reveal the release date for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, but it looks like Microsoft employees accidentally did it for them. A release date for the retro collection briefly appeared on the Xbox app. Of course, the leak was quickly removed, but screenshots that are circulating around the web report that Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection will be released on the 29th or 30th of September (depending on the region).

As a reminder, the collection includes the following games:

  • Mortal Kombat - 1992 (Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, Game Gear)
  • Mortal Kombat II - 1993 (Arcade, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy, 32X)
  • Mortal Kombat 3 - 1995 (Arcade, SNES, Genesis)
  • Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 - 1995 (Arcade, SNES)
  • Mortal Kombat 4 - 1997 (Arcade)
  • Mortal Kombat Advance - 2001 (Game Boy Advance)
  • Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance - 2002 (Game Boy Advance)
  • Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition - 2003 (Game Boy Advance).

In addition, Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection will include an interactive documentary featuring the series' origin story, rare concept art, archival footage and exclusive interviews with the original MK developers, including Ed Boon and John Tobias.

The edition will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
