The next batch of rumours about the future of Xiaomi's top flagship has hit the web. According to a new leak, Xiaomi is preparing the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max model, which may become the top smartphone in the lineup. The device is expected to feature a large display, innovative cameras, and a powerful battery.

According to information from China, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max will be equipped with three 50MP cameras, including a periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. All three modules will use 50MP sensors, and the main module is likely to feature a SmartSens SC890 sensor developed by SmartSens, a Chinese image sensor manufacturer. The SC890 sensor supports LOFIC 2.0 and Quad Phase Detection (QPD) technology, which provides higher low-light quality and improved focusing.

Xiaomi 16 Pro Max is also reported to have a flat display with 2K Real RGB resolution, which indicates a focus on high colour accuracy. The device will have a powerful 7500 mAh battery, which is a significant improvement over previous models. It is also expected to support fast charging with a capacity of up to 100W.

In terms of performance, the smartphone should be based on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset (SM8750), which is built on a 3nm process technology. According to rumours, Xiaomi is planning to make this model its top-of-the-line offering in the series, probably positioning it above the Xiaomi 16 Ultra.

The date of the presentation has not yet been confirmed, but the model is likely to be announced in China in autumn or late 2025, after the debut of the basic Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro.
