Game industry secrets will be revealed: Tom Henderson is writing a book about cancelled games by major studios
Books about the intricacies of the gaming industry are becoming increasingly popular. The first to prove it was David Kushner with his work "Masters of DOOM" (Masters of Doom), and after him Jason Schreier released several interesting books that revealed many behind-the-scenes secrets of developers.
Another reputable journalist and insider joins this trend.
Here's What We Know
Tom Henderson, editor-in-chief of Insider Gaming portal, said that he started writing a book about cancelled games. He plans to tell readers how brave and unconventional developers' ideas can be and how painful it is for them to decide to cancel their projects. Henderson already has several stories ready about projects by Electronic Arts, Activision, Eidos and other studios, but he asks anyone who has any information about a cancelled game to contact him, as the work has just begun and he is still gathering material.
I started writing my first book this week on cancelled video games! The purpose of the book is to educate on the many reasons why game cancellations happen, the stories behind them, and 'what could have been', which I have always found fascinating.
