Lexus is discontinuing a number of models
Japanese premium brand Lexus has announced the imminent cessation of production of several of its key models in Japan. The list includes most versions of the IS sedan, RC coupe and the all-electric version of the UX.
Here's What We Know
Production of the above models in Japan will end in November 2025. Information about the end of production can be seen on special pages of the models on the official Lexus website.
In addition, Lexus also announced the end of production of the RC F "Final Edition" model, which was limited to 200 units and completely sold out. Only the rear-wheel drive version of the IS 300h will continue to be produced and sold in Japan, while the rest of the IS and RC versions will be discontinued. The next generation IS is expected in 2026 with electric and hybrid powertrains.
There are also reports of a possible replacement of the RC coupe with a new sports coupe, which could also replace the LC model. Production of the LC model is also rumoured to end in 2026.
It should be noted that Lexus also plans to end production of the UX 300h model by the end of fiscal year 2025, but it is not yet known if the model will have a potential successor given its popularity and association with the Toyota C-HR and Corolla Cross models.
