A dealer in the US is selling off a nearly new Fisker Ocean for the price of a Toyota Corolla
Henrik Fisker's dream of building his own electric car empire collapsed in 2024. But one California car dealership seems to have forgotten that. Dealer Newport Fisker of Costa Mesa, California, has put 24 2023 Fisker Ocean crossovers for sale with almost no mileage - many with just 50 miles (80 kilometres) on them. And all priced from $22,990 to $27,990 - about the same as a used Toyota Corolla.
Here's What We Know
There's no word on the dealer's website about Fisker going bankrupt and disappearing from the market. Almost all Ocean are fresh copies in different configurations, including 15 pieces in the top version One. This variant features a 564 hp (420 kW) powerplant and a large 106 kWh battery that provides up to 360 miles (580 km) of range on the EPA cycle. Acceleration from a standing start to 60 mph (97 km/h) is less than 4 seconds.

Inside, there's a minimalist cabin with a rotating 17.1-inch screen (in portrait and landscape orientation) available on all versions except the base Sport.
Prices are two to three times lower than entry-level prices ($41,000 to $71,000), but these cars have one major drawback: the manufacturer no longer exists. There is no technical support, no warranty, and no clear way to eliminate possible malfunctions. And malfunctions, judging by the number of recall campaigns, there could be.
With all that said, there are already satisfied owners on Reddit who bought Ocean from Newport Fisker and claim to be using the electric cars with no problems. They advise new buyers to watch themed YouTube channels that share tips on maintenance and customisation.
By the way, this isn't the only dealership with remnants of nearly new Ocean. Lumin Fisker (Folsom, California) has 26 such cars, but the prices are higher, ranging from $30,995 to $37,495.
