GOG is giving away 13 "adult" games for free - to prove: censorship does more evil than content
The GOG (Good Old Games) platform has partnered with publishers to launch FreedomToBuy.games, where 13 games with adult content are being given away for free for 48 hours.
Here's What We Know
GOG explains: the decision is due to the mass removal of legal content under pressure from payment processors such as Visa and Mastercard. It's a move against the "quiet erasure" of creativity from digital storefronts - if games are removed today, it's almost impossible to get them back tomorrow.
In mid-July 2025, a lot of adult games disappeared from Steam and Itch.io - not because of breaking the law, but because of pressure from groups like Collective Shout. Payment processors, terrified of controversial content, are forcing platforms to revise their catalogues.
The International Game Developers Association (IGDA), as well as European and German industry unions, have spoken out against such censorship practices, calling them harmful and unfair.
How to get the games
To download the bundle, you need to log into your GOG account, use the code "freedomtobuygames" or directly at FreedomToBuy.games. The games will stay in your library forever, with no DRM restrictions.
