This clip was shot on forty iPhone 16 Pro: Japanese rock band Kroi showed the potential of Apple's smartphones
The use of smartphones in professional video shooting is becoming a new trend. Recall that in 2024 it became known that almost the entire film "28 Years Later" The sequel to the film "28 Days Later" was shot almost entirely on an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Now a similar technique was used by the Japanese band Kroi when shooting the music video for the single "Method".
Here's What We Know
The clip was released in mid-July, but only gained widespread attention now that Apple's vice president of marketing, Greg Joswiak, has posted about it.

The thing is that the video was shot entirely on forty iPhone 16 Pro smartphones, which were fixed not only in front of the musicians, but also on their musical instruments, suspended from the ceiling and arranged around the perimeter, which allowed to shoot dynamic scenes from different angles, and later the editors combined them into one three-minute clip, which has already collected more than 5 million views.
The idea for the clip belongs to Japanese film director Taichi Kimura.
The cost of the gadgets used to record the music video is estimated at about $40,000, which is much cheaper than renting professional cameras and hiring cameramen.
