Coco delivery robots promote comedy starring Eddie Murphy: Prime Video launches The Pickup movie promo
A creative campaign has been launched in Los Angeles that is unlikely to be overlooked: the delivery robots from Coco Robotics are no longer just couriers, but are now part of a promotional flash mob in support of Prime Video's new Eddie Murphy comedy The Pickup. The campaign launched on 21 July and will run until the film's premiere on 6 August.
Here's What We Know
The plot centres on a heist involving the world's most unsuccessful call driver, who mistakenly becomes embroiled in a plan to steal a collection vehicle. The film promises a dashing mix of action, sarcasm and acting absurdity, thanks in large part to Murphy, who returns to his crowning roles.
To highlight the spirit of the film, Coco's fleet of robots in Los Angeles has been decorated in the style of the armoured vans from the film: with Prime Video logos, graphics and even character voices played during deliveries. Each delivery is like an episode from the film, but in the real world.
The organisers emphasise: this is not just PR. This is street cinema in motion, where advertising turns into interaction. The idea is to show how to attract attention unobtrusively and creatively, not overloading the city with banners, but involving passers-by in microscenes with robots.
