iFixit rates Samsung Galaxy Flip7's repairability at a C
The well-known repair resource iFixit gave the new Samsung Galaxy Flip 7 folding smartphone only 3 points out of 10. The resource called replacing the battery and screen a nightmare.
It's clear that a folding mechanism is more complex than a monolithic one, so the process of disassembly and replacement is more complicated. But there are also purely practical problems. The fragile, thin flexible screen is firmly glued, and it was not an easy task to detach it from the frame without damaging it. The battery turned out to be firmly glued to the frame over the entire area, which also added unexpected inconvenience.
It is worth reminding that this resource recently made a similar conclusion about Galaxy Fold7, although the situation with the battery and hinge was slightly different.
In general, this trend is typical for all modern smartphones. Users like to buy ultra-thin smartphones with large screens, but it is very difficult to repair such devices in case of a breakdown.
