Xpeng has revealed the interior of the new P7 with an 87-inch augmented reality (AR-HUD) display
Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng has published in its official Weibo account new details about the new version of the P7 fastback, including interior features and powertrain versions.
Here's What We Know
The main interior feature is an 87-inch augmented reality projection display (AR-HUD) that displays navigation, driver assistant prompts and even mini-games directly on the windscreen in the driver's field of vision. The HUD is complemented by a new three-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument cluster.
The multimedia system's screen can physically rotate and interact with the user - it can, for example, "nod" in response to voice commands. Also XPeng declares about a new touch control interface Touch Pad, but there are few details yet.
The seats are sporty, with active side support. Seat rollers react to body roll in 10 milliseconds, shifting 30 mm. There is ventilation, heating and massage function.
Dimensions: length - 5 017 mm, width - 1 970 mm, height - 1 427 mm, wheelbase - 3 008 mm. The design is by French designer Rafik Ferrag.
XPeng P7 will be offered in two versions: rear-wheel drive with a 270 kW motor, as well as all-wheel drive, where another 167 kW motor is added to the front axle. The combined output of the top version is 437 kW.
For the P7, 74.9 and 92.2 kW∙h batteries will be available. According to the CLTC methodology, the base rear-wheel drive version will travel up to 702 kilometres, the version with increased range - up to 820 kilometres, and all-wheel drive - up to 750 kilometres. Of course, the real values will be lower, but the figures are still impressive. The batteries are supplied by EVE Energy and CALB.
The P7 is built on an 800-volt architecture with silicon carbide-based power components. The platform supports 5C charging - as the manufacturer claims that under ideal conditions and a suitable charging station, it can top up to 436 kilometres of range in 10 minutes.
Pricing of the new Xpeng P7 will be announced at the end of August, when it officially goes on sale.
