Hitachi, a giant known not only for high-quality microelectronics but also, say, industrial excavators, is going to sell its home appliances business. The deal is worth approximately 100 billion yen (~679 million USD).

Hitachi's home appliances are sold mainly in the Japanese market, which has proved to be too competitive even for Samsung. That's why the Korean company became interested in this purchase.

But the most interesting thing in this story is the reason for Hitachi's move. It's not about losses or looking for free money. According to the Sammobile resource, Hitachi's board of directors is dissatisfied with the sales of goods. Household appliances can be sold and earned only once, while services and subscriptions can be sold monthly.

The deal has not yet been finalised, and both companies are refusing to comment, so more information on this situation may be available in the future.
