The Disciples series will continue: a new strategy with the subtitle Domination has been announced
Publisher Kalypso Media has unexpectedly announced a new part of the once popular Disciples series.
The first two games were released in 1999 and 2001 and were complex turn-based strategy games in the style of Heroes of Might and Magic, but in a much darker style.
The last part of Disciples was released in 2021 with the subtitle Liberation and was an RPG, not a strategy game, which disappointed gamers.
Here's What We Know
The new Disciples: Domination game is being developed by the French studio Artefacts, which last year released the little-known tactical game Crown Wars - The Black Prince.
The plot of Disciples: Domination will centre on the heir of Queen Avyanna, who 15 years before the events of the game freed Nevendaar from the tyranny of the gods.
The player will have to consolidate the power of the new ruler in order to save the dying empire. The game will be full of battles, betrayals, political intrigue and difficult decisions.
The game will return to the concept of strategy and will allow you to control armies of different units. At any moment, the player can ask advice from allies, the choice of which affects relations with certain factions. The abilities of the subordinate characters are expanded as you progress and develop the heroes.
The combat system includes turn-based battles with an emphasis on tactical action, but battles will take place at a slightly faster pace to give Disciples: Domination a dynamic feel.
The game features five factions with their own strengths and weaknesses, and gameplay is based on the proper use of a variety of units.
When We Can Expect It
Disciples: Domination is expected to release in 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
