Apple has confirmed that users will be able to add GPT-5 to Apple Intelligence in new versions of the operating system. This is not mandatory, but it will be possible if desired.

Apple is cautious about cloud computing and hides the IP addresses of ChatGPT users so that OpenAI cannot identify subscribers. This feature does not apply to users logged into the ChatGPT app under their own account.

Apple Intelligence is a unified marketing name for features powered by artificial intelligence. Apple does not want to use cloud computing as a matter of principle in order not to pose a threat to privacy, so it tries to implement local AI computing. This is not always possible due to the relatively weak capabilities of portable equipment, so the company has faced significant delays. Thus, some of the features announced in September 2024 have not yet been implemented. Users who want access to modern technology can use third-party models such as OpenAI, Google, or Microsoft if they are willing to sacrifice privacy.
