Xiaomi launches Smart Camera 4C 3.5K - a video surveillance camera with AI
Xiaomi has launched the Smart Camera 4C 3.5K in China, an affordable smart camera that offers more than you'd expect from a surveillance camera. Equipped with a 6MP sensor, it captures video in 3200×1800 resolution, and AI processing ensures bright, clear and colourful images even at dusk.
It works via Wi-Fi 6 on two bands (2.4 and 5 GHz) with OFDMA technology, which enables up to 60% faster data transfer compared to Wi-Fi 4, which is important for high-definition video streaming.
The built-in 1 T AI chip is responsible for fast and accurate recognition of people and animals and motion tracking. The camera can count the number of people in the frame and recognise types of pets. The manufacturer has also taken care of security: the MJA1 chip with EAL 5+ certification encrypts the transmission, and the physical lens shutter allows you to manually or schedule the camera lens to close it.
Nighttime shooting is also a breeze - 8 940 nm infrared LEDs illuminate the darkness without disturbing your cosiness.
The viewing angle is wide enough - 360° horizontally and 116° vertically. The camera supports image storage on a microSD card up to 256 GB and NAS. The camera can be integrated with other Xiaomi devices in their smart home infrastructure, for example, automatically switching on the heating, lighting, or air conditioning depending on the presence of people in the room.
The price is only 29, which is a very good deal for such a technologically advanced device.
