Sony showed off the benefits of kusarigama in the new Ghost of Yōtei trailer
Sony and Sucker Punch Studios have unveiled a spectacular gameplay trailer for Ghost of Yōtei action game.
Here's What We Know
This time the developers demonstrated the skill of the main character Atsu mastery of Kusarigama.
Recall, this is a traditional Japanese weapon, which is a sickle with a weight on the chain.
The Kusarigama will allow players to deliver swinging blows without having to approach the enemy. In addition, Atsu can use this weapon to draw opponents towards him to kill them with a single strike of the sickle.
The gameplay of Ghost of Yōtei looks dynamic and brutal, showing great progression over Ghost of Tsushima.
The new game from Sucker Punch will feature an extensive arsenal of weapons, and while the protagonist of Ghost of Tsushima was armed only with a katana and a tanto dagger, Atsu, in addition to the kusarigama, has access to a katana, spear, odachi (long sword) and paired blades. The girl is not constrained by the bushido code and can use the dirtiest techniques as her enemies do the same.
When We Can Expect It
Ghost of Yōtei will be released on 2 October 2025 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
