No online at release: Fox Hunt mode won't appear in Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater until autumn
Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater will be released on the 28th of August. The remake of the cult stealth action game from 2005 is attracting a lot of attention thanks to its excellent graphics, high detail, updated combat mechanics and increased cinematography. But it is also important that the game will feature Fox Hunt multiplayer mode, which is not connected with MGS Online and will give players a completely new experience.
Here's What We Know
Unfortunately, Konami will not release Fox Hunt at the same time as the single-player Snake Eater story mode. The company said that the new mode will be available only in autumn 2025, without specifying the exact date.
But it was revealed that the development of Fox Hunt is headed by Yu Sahara, who has extensive experience working on Metal Gear Solid and was involved in the creation of MGS4, Peace Walker, Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.
Flashback
Fox Hunt mode is open to up to 12 players, who will face off against each other as spies using all the core mechanics from the single-player Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater.
The main feature of Fox Hunt will be the cloaking, which changes automatically depending on what surface the player is near. The developers showed how the character is covered in thick grass, mimic a brick wall, hide in the mud and blend in with rocks - all this helps to hide from enemies.
Fox Hunt mode encourages stealth, attentiveness and proper planning of your actions, and players use disguises and traps instead of traditional firefights to win.
The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series and PC.
