OnePlus is testing a 1.5K (approximately ~2700×1200) flat-panel display with a frequency of 165 Hz. The device will also have an updated touch IC for better screen sensitivity. According to a reliable Digital Chat Station insider, this technology will significantly improve the smoothness of movement and speed of touch response for both gaming and the interface.

Details.

It is interesting that Redmi (Xiaomi) is also testing a similar solution - 165 Hz screens, which may be a reaction to OnePlus. A likely contender for the new display is the OnePlus Ace 6, the launcher in the Ace 6 series, which is likely to feature a 165Hz 1.5K screen, an under-screen ultrasound scanner, an 8-series Snapdragon chip, and a metal frame. The device is expected to launch in October 2025 and will be globally known as the OnePlus 15R.

So, OnePlus may introduce one of the fastest display refresh rates in the mid-range segment, which opens up a new level in the competitive race. If the testing goes well, this will be one of the first steps in bringing this technology to the mass segment.
