Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD unveiled in China with 830 kilometres of CLTC range
Tesla has unveiled a new version of the Model 3 Long Range sedan in China. Price - from 269,500 yuan (just under $38,000), the stated range on the optimistic cycle CLTC - 830 km.
Here's What We Know
The new version of the Model 3 has become the longest-range of all modifications. It is equipped with a single 225 kW (306 hp) rear-mounted 3D6 engine. Instead of CATL's LFP batteries, it uses LG's 78.4 kWh NCM battery, which supports DC charging up to 250 kW. Tesla attributes the increase in driving range to the battery's increased energy capacity and improved thermal management system.
Compared to the base RWD version (634 kilometres of range), the new Long-Range RWD version is more expensive by 34,000 yen ($4,760).

At the same time as the new Model 3 Long Range, the updated all-wheel-drive Performance version officially debuted in China. It now travels up to 647 kilometres on a single charge versus the previous 623 kilometres.
Orders for both versions are already being taken, but deliveries will start in September.
Along with the launch of the new products, Tesla introduced a "free transfer of fully autonomous driving (FSD)" policy in China, allowing owners to keep their purchased FSD automated driving package when purchasing a new Tesla vehicle.
