Will Sony and Microsoft franchises merge? Helldivers 2 may feature a crossover with Halo
As early as 26 August, An unprecedented event! Sony's mega-popular game is coming to Xbox, and it's Helldivers 2 - we're talking about the popular co-op shooter Helldivers 2. In honour of this event, the developer has provided a special trailer, the ending of which hints at a crossover with one of Microsoft's flagship franchises.
Here's What We Know
Helldivers 2 has already had several successful crossovers with other well-known franchises, but it's hard to imagine a game more suited for such an event than Halo.
At the end of the trailer, titled Bring the Boom, fans saw a clear hint of Halo 3: ODST. This standalone add-on was released in 2009 only on Xbox 360, and the main character was not the famous Master Cheef, but an orbital paratrooper nicknamed Rookie. Like the heroes of Helldivers, he landed on the battlefield in an orbital capsule, and his armour has a lot in common with the costumes of the heroes of the game from Arrowhead Studios.
In short, gamers assume that Helldivers 2 Halo 3: ODST crossover will start on August 26, and if we add to it rumours that Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will release on PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 - insider reveals Microsoft's plans on PS5, the situation becomes quite logical.
