Samsung has unveiled the Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF) gaming monitor - the world's first 27″ OLED display with a refresh rate of 500Hz. The novelty is aimed at cyber athletes and gamers who are interested in maximum responsiveness and smoothness of the image.

Here's What We Know

The monitor features a QD-OLED panel with 16:9 aspect ratio, QHD (2560×1440) resolution, 0.03ms response time and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Peak brightness reaches 1,000 nits and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification ensures deep black tones and realistic light transmission. Glare Free technology reduces reflections on the screen, making it comfortable even in brightly lit environments.

The Odyssey G6 supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync anti-aliasing technologies, and is Pantone Validated - the monitor is capable of accurately displaying over 2100 colours and 110 skin tones. Among the ports there are two HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB Type-A and Type-B, as well as 3.5mm audio output.

The manufacturer gives a three-year warranty.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF) is already available for $999 and comes with an adjustable stand.

Flashback

In fact, the first 500Hz monitor was announced by MSI, but Samsung managed to get ahead of the competition and was the first to put such a model on sale.
