Context
VIVE Eagle is a direct competitor to Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses: in terms of features weight, camera, sound - on a level, but HTC stands out with AI interface and support for several large language models. Google Gemini and ChatGPT support - flexibility that Meta doesn't have yet. Translations in 13 languages instead of 4 - a significant advantage for travellers.
But for now, access is Taiwan only: pre-orders from 14 to 31 August, retail starts 1 September, price ~$520. Expect to see them in other markets, including the US and Europe, in the future.
