Cupra intrigued by a futuristic concept named after an ancient volcano
Cupra will unveil the new Tindaya concept, named after the volcanic mountain in Fuerteventura (Canary Islands), at the IAA Mobility 2025 Motor Show in Munich. The premiere will take place on 8 September, and this model will be the next chapter in the development of the brand's corporate identity.
Here's What We Know
In the teaser video, the Tindaya name appears from an asteroid crashing into volcanic rock. The published image shows the rear of the car: thin elongated lights with illuminated Tindaya lettering, embossed fenders with glossy carbon fibre texture, copper accents and matte upper bodywork.
Cupra is keeping quiet about the body type for now, but based on the proportions, it could be a coupe-like crossover. A video earlier showed a futuristic interior with backlit, ribbed trim and a diamond structure in the centre of the cabin.
The concept's design theme is "No Drivers, No Cupra". The car is clearly not conceived as a robotaxi: the creators describe it as a symbiosis of man and machine with an emphasis on the digital interface.
There's no information about the powertrain yet either, but it's likely that the Tindaya will be all-electric. Cupra says the concept will be "the ultimate expression of driver-centricity" and should offer a unique experience behind the wheel.
In addition to the Tindaya, a pre-production prototype of the Raval electric hatchback will be shown at the brand's Munich stand. This model will share a platform with the upcoming VW ID.2all and Skoda Epiq and will go on sale in 2026 as Cupra's most affordable electric car.
