Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will get even higher frequencies than Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2
Qualcomm is preparing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (SM8845), which is supposed to become a real flagship for more simplified flagships. A well-known insider at Digital Chat Station reports that the chip will receive the same custom Oryon cores and will be manufactured using the 3nm N3P process, just like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2.
The leak confirms that the configuration will remain in the format of "2 productive + 6 energy-efficient cores". The Pegasus performance core will have a frequency of up to 5.0 GHz, and the energy-efficient cores will be up to 4.0 GHz. This is significantly higher than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, where the maximum frequency was 4.32 GHz and 3.53 GHz, respectively.

Despite having a similar architecture to the Elite Gen 2, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 will be located in a slightly lower price segment. Smartphones with this processor are expected to cost between $300-400, making the premium level of performance more accessible to the masses.
At the same time, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 will remain Qualcomm's true top-of-the-line chipset, with higher frequencies, powerful graphics, wider memory bandwidth, and more powerful AI features. Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is positioned as a "flagship experience at a mid-range price".
