Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will delight strategy fans with four story campaigns consisting of more than seventy missions
A few days ago RTS classics in a new way: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has been announced The continuation of the cult series is being developed not by Relic Entertainment, but by KING Art studio - the author of the not too popular strategy Iron Harvest.
Modern RTS are created, first of all, with the aim of exciting online battles, but Dawn of War IV uses a completely different approach, which will be appreciated by fans of old games of this genre.
Here's What We Know
Creative director of Dawn of War IV Jan Theysen in an interview with PC Gamer said that the game will be based on a single-player story mode, as this is the request demonstrated by the survey of Iron Harvest fans.
The studio is sure that strategy fans appreciate interesting story campaigns more than network modes, so in the new Dawn of War gamers will get four campaigns for four different factions - Space Troopers, Techno Priests, Orcs and Necrons.
There will be more than seventy missions in the campaigns, in which it is necessary not only to competently lead the troops, but also to make difficult decisions that affect the development of the plot. There will also be optional additional tasks, for the fulfilment of which players will receive valuable rewards.
Gamemdirektor stressed that despite the emphasis on single-player campaigns, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will please players and traditional online modes, in which you can arrange large-scale battles:
We'll have multiplayer modes for those who want to play with friends or against other players. However, as we've seen from community feedback, as well as our memories of what we ourselves value most about RTS from our youth and how that has shaped our tastes in the genre, it's the single-player campaigns that have left the longest lasting mark.
When We Can Expect It
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will be released in 2026 on PC (Steam) only.
