More and more information is emerging about the first foldable iPhone model and new details have been shared by authoritative insider and Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

Here's What We Know

In the new issue of the weekly news digest Power On Gurman reported that the iPhone Fold will get four cameras: front, internal and two main cameras, and for biometric control Apple chose Touch ID, built into the power button, instead of Face ID.

The gadget will feature Apple's second-generation Apple C modem, but without a physical SIM card slot. At the moment, the manufacturer is considering two variants of the body colour - black and white.

Recall, earlier insider Ming-Chi Kuo reported that the diagonal of the internal screen of the foldable gadget will be 7.8″ without folds, and the external - 5.5″. When folded, the device will be 9 to 9.5mm thick, while when unfolded it will be 4.5mm to 4.8mm thick.

The foldable iPhone will get a titanium alloy body. The internal displays will be connected by a hinge of liquid metal, which will significantly increase the strength and reliability of the design. Now, Ming-Chi Kuo clarified that the manufacturer will achieve a "fold-free" display thanks to the use of laser-drilled metal plate and the transition from on-cell to in-cell technology, which reduces the visibility of the bend.

The foldable iPhone is expected to be released in 2026.
