IGN has revealed exclusive gameplay footage of Europa Universalis V, the ambitious 4X strategy game from Paradox Interactive
Paradox Interactive will release Europa Universalis V, which will be "the next stage in the development of historical 4X-strategies", as early as 4 November.
The Swedish publisher is not very active in sharing details of the new game, and gameplay footage was not shown at all, so the video from IGN is worthy of close attention.
Here's What We Know
IGN editorial staff has published an exclusive gameplay trailer of Europa Universalis V. The video confirms that gamers are expected to experience the same complex and multi-level gameplay, where every action matters and can lead to unexpected consequences for the whole nation. At the same time, Paradox Interactive has made significant changes to the system of diplomacy, economy and logistics, thanks to which these elements will become even deeper, more realistic and more important.
Taking control of one of the states (mostly European), players will guide it through five hundred years of geopolitical events, wars and other global upheavals.
It is impossible not to mention the excellent graphics. Of course, Europa Universalis is not a series in which this aspect is critically important, but it's nice when all units, buildings, maps and numerous menus look great and are competently stylised.
Let's remind, Paradox offers to pre-order the game, for which gamers will get the digital soundtrack of Europa Universalis V. The base edition will cost $60, and the premium edition - $85 dollars. Extended version includes three sets of add-ons dedicated to the history of individual regions.
