Xiaomi is not slowing down after the successful launch of SU7 sedan and YU7 crossover. The new sedan, which is an extended version of the SU7, has been spotted and photographed on the roads in China.

Here's What We Know

Prototypes in camouflage retain the fastback's swift silhouette, but are noticeably stretched. This indicates the main priority - additional space for second row passengers.

The standard SU7 is 4,997mm long and has a wheelbase of 3,000mm. Judging by the images, the new version could grow to about 5200 mm and the base will increase by 80-150 mm. Such a change means more legroom for passengers in the back.

If the regular SU7 is positioned as a driver's electric car with an emphasis on dynamics, the extended version will be focused on comfort and can compete, for example, with the Porsche Panamera Executive.

According to Chinese media, the interior of the SU7 L may get wider and more comfortable rear seats, separate multimedia screens and even a mini-fridge, turning the second row into a "mobile office" or lounge area.

The model is likely to retain the 800-volt architecture for fast charging and proprietary intelligent driving systems. However, engineers will have to reconfigure the suspension to compensate for the increased size and weight.

The price of the novelty is expected to exceed 400,000 yuan ($55,800). This will allow Xiaomi to occupy a niche between the more affordable BYD Han (from 279,800 yuan, about $39,000) and models from foreign brands like the Tesla Model S (from 684,900 yuan, $95,550).

The company has not yet disclosed the official name, specifications and release date. Analysts predict that the premiere should be expected in early 2026.
