Nintendo has yet to name a date for its next regular show, but preliminary information on when to expect it has already surfaced online.

Here's What We Know

A Switch Force insider has hinted that the Nintendo Direct will take place on 12 September.

Theoretically in favour of this date is the fact that the legendary Super Mario Bros. franchise turns 40 the next day and the company could hold a celebratory show on the eve of the anniversary.

Switch Force hasn't revealed what games it expects to see at the Nintendo Direct, but at this point gamers are hoping to hear a release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which was announced back in 2017 and is one of the Japanese company's flagship projects. The developer promises to release the game before the end of 2025, and a few days ago it received an age rating from the ESRB commission, which happens just before new releases.

There's a chance that September's Nintendo Direct will be devoted entirely to Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - such shows have previously focused on Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders.
