Huawei prepares FreeClip 2 - a new version of the famous clip headphones
Huawei has planned a busy September, with insiders reporting the launch of updated FreeClip 2 headphones and a compact flagship tablet. These devices are expected to debut alongside the foldable Mate XTs smartphone.
The FreeClip 2, which has the model number T0027, retains the signature "C-bridge" design that ensures comfortable wearing. This time, Huawei will add new colours - Feather White, Modern Black and Denim Blue. The headphones are expected to feature improved sound quality, enhanced noise cancellation, and faster wireless connectivity. There is speculation that they will support Nearlink, a new data transfer standard that surpasses Bluetooth in terms of speed and stability.
In addition to the headphones, Huawei will also unveil a new compact 8.8-inch tablet. It is described as a "thin and light flagship" aimed at users looking for portability without compromising on performance. It may be a competitor to the iPad Mini, but in Huawei's vision.
The MatePad line is also expected to be updated - the 11.5 (2025) model will have a 120Hz LCD screen with a 2456×1600 resolution, Kirin 8020 processor, 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging support. The device will be extremely thin - only 6.1 mm - and weigh 515 g. The estimated price is about $400, and the colours include Space Gray, Island Blue, Frost Silver, and Feather Sand Purple.
Huawei is clearly looking to expand its ecosystem by offering both niche and mass products. The FreeClip 2 could become a competitor to the JBL Sense Pro, and the new tablet is an attractive alternative for those looking for a compact but powerful device.
