Chinese robot hoover maker Dreame to start producing electric cars
Chinese brand Dreame Technology, known for its robotic hoovers, has officially announced plans to become an automobile manufacturer. Dreame's debut model will be a luxury all-electric sports car designed to compete with the Bugatti Veyron.
Here's What We Know
Dreame has assembled an automotive team of nearly 1,000 people and continues to expand. According to the company, its first model will create a smart ecosystem different from traditional luxury cars and provide seamless integration with users' smart homes and mobile devices.
The company said that entering the automotive industry was not a hasty decision and a fleeting pursuit of trends, but was based on a vehicle development plan that was adopted back in 2013.
Dreame recognised that China's automotive industry has entered a fiercely competitive phase where the race is on technological innovation and speed of iteration, as well as supply chain integration capabilities.
The first EV model is scheduled to debut in 2027. Its name or at least approximate specifications have not yet been revealed.
