Ford has long called on the UK government to bring back subsidies for electric cars, and a few weeks ago it happened. The Puma Gen-E became the first model to receive the full £3750 ($5060) grant. Thanks to this, prices for the electric crossover start at £26,245 ($35,416) - £345 ($465) less than the Puma Hybrid costs. Leasing the novelty will cost from £290 ($391) per month for 48 months, while the hybrid - from £324 ($437).

The all-electric Ford E-Tourneo Courier has also received a full subsidy, with its price dropping to £28,440 ($38,379). As Autocar notes, both models passed the strict sustainability criteria that the government applies to the car and the brand as a whole. Details have not yet been revealed, but Ford clarifies that it's about the Romanian car assembly plant and the share of renewable energy in production.

Ford UK chief executive Lisa Brankin has welcomed the government's decision to accelerate the UK's transition to electric traction and support sustainability at a national level. She also added that it is now much easier and more profitable for customers to switch from internal combustion engine to electric traction.

As a reminder, the Ford Puma Gen-E is an all-electric version of the Puma crossover. It is equipped with a single electric motor with a power of 124 kW (168 hp) and a torque of 290 Nm. Capable of accelerating to 100 km/h in about 8 seconds. The battery pack with a useful capacity of 43 kWh provides a range of up to 376 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. The electric car supports DC fast charging up to 100 kW, allowing it to top up from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in 23 minutes.
