The legendary iMac in a blue translucent case may be released in the form of a Lego construction set
The Danish manufacturer of Lego sets has a page where users can suggest ideas for new sets. In order for the company to consider the project, visitors need to vote for their favourite option. One of these projects has attracted special attention from the tech community. It is a model of the legendary iMac G3 in a transparent Bondi Blue case, including a keyboard and the legendary hockey puck mouse. The model consists of about 700 parts, and even the miniature cathode ray tube and control board are visible through the transparent case.
The model has already gained more than 5,000 votes out of the 10,000 required and there is no doubt that it will successfully pass the milestone. However, Lego's consideration of the idea does not automatically mean that production will be launched. The release of such a set must be agreed with Apple, and Lego's management must believe in the financial activity of computer enthusiasts.
The iMac G3 was the first computer released by Apple after the return of Steve Jobs. The monoblock was amazing with its translucent case, and the futuristic UFO-shaped mouse was damn uncomfortable, but it looked cosmic. The G3 became a legend and started Apple's long journey to financial success.
