Vivo has unveiled the Y500 smartphone, which received the most capacious battery in the history of the brand and at the same time is available at an incredibly attractive price.

Here's What We Know

The main feature of the Vivo Y500 is the 8200 mAh battery, which provides:

  • up to 22 hours of operation at +40°C;
  • up to 16.7 hours of continuous video at -20°C;
  • up to 6 years of claimed battery life.

The smartphone supports 90W fast charging and with this battery, it is 8.23mm thick.

The Vivo Y500 gets a 6.77″ AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 5000 nits peak brightness. The processor used is a MediaTek Dimensity 7300, which is not a flagship processor but will provide decent performance. It will be complemented by 8/12GB of RAM and storage up to 512GB.

The gadget has a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP front camera. The novelty comes with OriginOS 5 shell based on Android 15 and supports NFC.

Vivo Y500 has passed MIL-STD tests and received SGS Gold Label certification, which confirms that the smartphone can withstand 62,000 micro drops and falls on a hard surface from a height of 1.7 metres. It is IP69+ protected against water and dust.

The smartphone is available in three colours: Glacier Blue, Dragon Crystal Purple and Basalt Black.

The Vivo Y500 goes on sale in China in four configurations (in RMB terms):

  • 8/128GB - $165;
  • 8/256GB - $190;
  • 12/256GB - $215;
  • 12/512GB - $240.
