27-year-old MrBeast, one of the most famous YouTube creators in the world, is preparing to launch his own mobile company
According to Business Insider, MrBeast is planning to launch its own mobile communications company. It will be a so-called virtual mobile operator (MVNO), i.e. an operator that does not have its own infrastructure and uses the network of another operator. It is not yet known whether it will be ATT, T-Mobile or Verizon. Such a scheme allows you to enter the market very quickly and with minimal investment and exit it just as easily and quickly if necessary.
The 27-year-old MrBeast is one of the most popular YouTube creators in the world. He has 430 million subscribers on YouTube and is also present on other social media platforms. His company, Beast Industries, owns food and toy companies and is considering entering fintech and mobile gaming. The blogger's side business is profitable, with the chocolate company Feastables alone bringing in $20 million in revenue last year. MrBeast's media business is not as successful - over the same period, the YouTube channel and his own reality show on Prime Video brought in almost $80 million in losses.
The creation of a mobile operator by a media personality is not a new strategy. Ryan Reynolds once created Mint Mobile, promoted it and sold it to T-Mobile for $1.35 billion. Being famous in itself is not very profitable, but it allows you to sell your audience any goods - from chocolates to a new SIM card.
