At IFA 2025, Samsung showed the world its new portable sound towers - the Sound Tower ST50F and ST40F models (we have a review of the previous generation system), designed for loud parties, country barbecues, and even home karaoke battles. Power, autonomy, backlighting, and a built-in DJ mode - all in one body with a handle. And, in the case of the older model, with wheels.

What we know

Both models have a new acoustic design with Waveguide technology, which provides a wide and even soundstage. According to Samsung, this allows you to hear clear highs thanks to the dome-shaped tweeters, as well as enjoy bass that can be adjusted to suit you: Deep, Punchy or Gentle.

TheST50F, the flagship of the range, delivers 240 watts of power, has two 6.5-inch woofers and 25mm tweeters, and can run for up to 18 hours on a single charge. It's equipped with a retractable handle and wheels, so if you like to take your music with you, this is your option.

The younger ST40F is a little more compact: 160W, 5.25-inch woofers, 20mm tweeters, and 12 hours of battery life. It doesn't have wheels, but it does have a built-in handle, which is enough to get you to the beach or balcony. Both models have IPX4 splash protection, meaning they're not afraid of rain or accidental beer spills.

Everything dances

The Party Lights+ system is not just a simple backlight, but five mood presets and six effects: Wave, Trail, Spark, Breeze, Flow and Flare to create an atmosphere from a loud festival to complete relaxation. The light reacts to the rhythm of the music and covers the entire speaker: rings around the twisters and woofers, linear illumination of the cabinet, the base, and even the handle, which also illuminates the control panel and holds your smartphone or tablet.

Music that turns into a stage

You can connect a guitar, run a DJ Booth or karaoke, and pair the speakers via Auracast Group Play or TWS Stereo Play to get true stereo with left and right channels. This is a complete mobile audio system that sounds equally confident in the kitchen, in the yard or on the dance floor.

For those who listen anywhere

Samsung has relied on mobility and autonomy. Both models have replaceable batteries so that the party doesn't stop because of a low charge. And the geometric design and LED backlighting creates the same visual effect that is appropriate for both an apartment and a country terrace.

The new Sound Tower should be available by the end of 2025. Prices have not yet been officially announced, but in the US, the ST50F will cost around $700 and the ST40F will cost $500.
