The release of the sci-fi horror game Cronos: The New Dawn has taken place. The new game from the Polish studio Bloober Team is already available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch 2, and also immediately received full compatibility with Steam Deck.

Here's What We Know

The authors of the highly regarded remake of Silent Hill 2 and many other popular horror and thriller games offered a non-standard look at the post-apocalypse and the theme of the global pandemic.

According to the plot of Cronos: The New Dawn in the 80's in an alternative Poland there was some kind of global catastrophe, which almost wiped out humanity, and some people turned into creepy creatures called "Orphans".

At the centre of the story is Putnica, who works for a secret organisation called the Collective. She goes to the past to search for important characters whose knowledge can save humanity in the present. To do this, the protagonist must collect the "essence of souls" and, according to the developers, this process will be very painful and sometimes fatal for the subjects.

The Putnica's task is complicated by huge crowds of Orphans, with whom the heroine has to fight.

A cool horror game, but not a perfect game - Cronos: The New Dawn gets high marks, but falls short of Silent Hill 2 Remake and stated that it is a great horror with an interesting plot and unique setting, but the combat system and too many enemies can somewhat spoil the impression.

At the same time, the first reviews in Steam show that gamers liked the novelty from Bloober Team even more than critics - at the moment the game's rating is 85% of reviews.
