BMW has unveiled the next-generation iX3, the first model of the Neue Klasse family.
The second generation of the BMW iX3 crossover has become the first production model on the Neue Klasse platform. The novelty received a new style, "digital nervous system" with four powerful computers and 800-volt architecture with a new type of batteries.
Here's What We Know
The start of sales is scheduled for mid-2026. The iX3 50 xDrive version with two electric motors (one per axle) developing 469 hp and 645 N-m will be the first to hit the market. Acceleration from a place to 100 km/h takes 4.9 seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 210 km/h. WLTP range is up to 805 kilometres, and 400 kW fast charging allows the battery to be topped up from 10 to 80 per cent in 21 minutes.
In terms of dimensions, the iX3 is close to the current X3: length - 4.78 metres, width - 1.89 metres, wheelbase - 2.90 metres. The aerodynamic drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.24 versus 0.29 of its predecessor. The exterior is drawn in the spirit of the concept Vision Neue Klasse X: vertical "nostrils", double headlights in the style of classic models of the brand and laconic lines without the usual plastic dodger.
In the cabin, the Panoramic iDrive display stretches from pillar to post, paired with a 17.9-inch centre screen and a 3D projection display. The new BMW X OS is responsible for the interface, while "superbrains" control the powertrain, driver assistance systems, multimedia and basic functions.
The boot holds between 520 and 1,750 litres according to European standard measurements. There is also a small front compartment with a volume of 57 litres.
The iX3 can be ordered now. In Germany, the 50 xDrive is priced from 68,900 euros. The European market debut is expected in March 2026. In the US, the novelty will appear in the summer of 2026. Around the same time, a version for China is expected. Of course, other modifications of the iX3 will soon appear.

The BMW iX3 will be produced at BMW's new plant in Debrecen, Hungary. The start of series production is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
