iPhone 17 without physical SIMs will get bigger batteries - informant
Just one day before the official announcement of the iPhone 17 series, a leak from the Chinese 3C certification database shed light on the battery capacity of the new products.
Battery capacity of the iPhone 17:
| Model | version with SIM | eSIM version |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 17 Air | 3,036 mAh-g | 3,149 mAh |
| iPhone 17 | 3,692 mAh-g | 3,692 mAh |
| iPhone 17 Pro | 3,988 mAh | 4,252 mAh |
| iPhone 17 Pro Max | 4,823 mAh-g | 5,088 mAh |
If these figures are confirmed, the Pro Max will be the first iPhone with a battery over 5,000 mAh - ~8% more than the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Interesting details:
The iPhone 17 Air is the thinnest in the lineup, with the smallest battery. Previously, there was information only about the eSIM version and rumours that due to the thin body, this model may not have a physical SIM version at all. However, now we see that this is not the case. It seems that, like Google, Apple will divide the versions by region - in some countries, only iPhones with eSIM will be available. It is likely that only eSIM versions of smartphones will be sold in the US and EU.
The leak also contains only one entry about the capacity of the basic iPhone. This may be due to the fact that both versions will have the same battery capacity.
