Nintendo has scored another victory in court. This time the company has brought the manufacturer of popular gamer accessories - Japanese company Genki, which is also one of the partners of Nintendo, but in the beginning of 2025 made a strange act.

Here's What We Know

To recall, in January at CES 2025, Genki The Switch 2 presentation is now out of the way, with partner Nintendo unveiling a detailed mock-up of the new console and starting to advertise its accessories then unrevealed Nintendo Switch 2 console.

This was to showcase and promote its own accessories for the console, but the display was not coordinated with Nintendo and violated its privacy.

The court found Genki guilty of illegally using someone else's brand in an advert, banned the use of tools that could be associated with Nintendo and awarded monetary compensation to the Japanese giant in an unnamed amount.

This outcome was entirely predictable and it's still surprising how brazenly Genki infringed on Nintendo's interests.
