Yesterday, Apple presented Apple unveiled AirPods Pro 3 - TWS headphones with AI translation and heart rate measurement, one of the main features of which was the ability to synchronous AI-translation. But as it turned out, you don't have to buy the novelty to use this option!

Here's What We Know

Apple made sure that such a relevant function as real-time speech translation was available on the old headphones. Owners of AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 will be able to use it, but there is one nuance.

To use the translation option, you need to have an iPhone model on which iOS 26 can be installed, which, as we already reported, is iPhone 11 and later, as well as iPhone SE 2 and later (all iPhones 17 come with the new firmware). As a reminder, this update will be released on 15 September.

To be able to communicate directly in different languages, it is necessary that they both have headphones from Apple, otherwise one of the participants of the conversation will have to show the text translation on the iPhone screen. To activate the translation, you need to press the button on the headphones at the same time.

So far, five languages (English, French, German, Portuguese and Spanish) are available for translation, but Apple promises to expand the list.

AirPods Pro 3 will go on sale on 19 September.
