TCL, which recently launched an eye-friendly smartphone, is preparing a new tablet - the TCL Tab 8 NxtPaper 5G. This tablet will have a diagonal of 8 inches, which makes it a good portable device - convenient for reading, taking notes and working in transport or in a cafe.

Display and ergonomics

The display is made using fourth-generation NxtPaper technology and features glare reduction, increased pixel area and reduced light beam intensity and blue light reduction. It is possible to switch between full colour and monochrome mode - an E-Ink simulation to read or write without undue strain on your eyes. A separate "NxtPaper Key" button on the side of the tablet is responsible for quickly changing this mode.

The display has a stylus layer, so you can make handwritten notes and draw on the tablet. It is likely to come with a stylus, as was the case with the smartphone.

Other features

Detailed specifications are not yet known. It is known that the tablet will have a hybrid SIM and microSD tray and will work in 5G networks. A 3.5mm audio jack is also reported to complement the built-in stereo speakers.

TCL continues to develop its own eye-friendly display technology and sees potential in it. Unfortunately, due to the manufacturer's small market share, we cannot expect independent medical testing of the technology. However, the technology is still interesting, so we will continue to follow its development.
