Xiaomi 16 will be the first smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite 5

Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new flagship, the Xiaomi 16, and it looks like it could be one of the most interesting smartphones of the year. According to insider Yogesh Brar, the device will receive a number of significant updates that take it far beyond its predecessor, the Xiaomi 15.
Main specifications:
- Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite 5 - Qualcomm's flagship processor may debut in Xiaomi 16
- Screen: 1.5K 6.3-inch LTPO OLED panel, 120Hz refresh rate, ultrasonic fingerprint scanner
- Battery: 7000 mAh (predecessor 5240 mAh); fast charging 100W via cable and 50W wireless
- Protection: IP69
- Cameras: three 50 MP sensors - main Omnivision, ultra-wide-angle and Samsung JN5 telephoto; front-facing 32 MP
Xiaomi 16 is expected to be announced in September in China, and the global version will also go on sale this autumn.
